The Beau Koo Jacks Era

I first met Paul in 2003 when we were both part of a project to play gigs doing New Orleans styled creole cajun period R & B. The band was called Beau Koo Jacks. We played some nice gigs:  Famous Dave's, Lee's Liquor Lounge, Newman's on Fat Tuesday, The Love Ugly Caberet in Rochester, the Whiskey, the Narrows, etc.  All the joints. I recall one of the tunes was Big Bess, or maybe some Louie Prima tune.  Paul always wanted to take the tempo up into the stratosphere faster than any reasonable cat could play.  I always felt good on the nights I kept up. I just learned there is a photo and studio demo of that band at

Check it out.
